Submitting an Article:
The Children’s Folklore Review publishes articles on all aspects of children’s traditions: oral, customary, and material culture. In addition, CFR will consider articles dealing with the use of folklore in children’s literature, children’s folklore and education, children’s folklore and popular culture, and similar topics. The CFR prefers that all submissions be made electronically via email to Brant W. Ellsworth, editor, at email@example.com.
Stylistically, including the formatting of citations and references, the Children’s Folklore Review conforms to style guidelines of the Journal of American Folklore, the 16th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style, and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary. Papers requiring notes should use endnotes rather than footnotes. Before submitting, authors should ensure their work complies with the submission guidelines found in the Submission Preparation Guidelines.
Submitting a Book Review:
If you are interested in being a reviewer for the Children’s Folklore Review, please email Brant Ellsworth, editor, at firstname.lastname@example.org with your areas of expertise. Because of the specialized nature of our journal and the few titles in children’s folklore published each year, the Children’s Folklore Review does not maintain an ongoing list of available texts. However, when new titles are received, the editor will try to match books with subject matter experts. Reviewers with questions about the book review process are encouraged to review the Book Review Guidelines.
